Three Simple Ergonomics Tips for Tablet and Smartphone Users

Young woman looking at modern tabletNot so long ago I was in a restaurant with a friend when we ended up discussing the ergonomics of smartphone and tablet devices. My friend had just visited her doctor to complain about her increased neck pain and aches in her left wrist and forearm.

The culprit was her new Nokia Lumia smart phone. The doctor had remarked that holding your arms elevated for long periods of time to be able to use the smart phone creates considerable strain for the neck muscles. [Read more…]

An Alternative to Perfect

Last week I published a post that discusses the connection between perfectionism and difficulties in weight maintenance. I think  perfectionism is one reason why weight maintenance is so hard for me, because it puts excess stress on me and it makes it hard for me to accept occasional setbacks.

New Set of Before And After Weight Loss Pictures

Like I mentioned in my perfectionism post, I’ve lost approximately 3.8kg (~ 8lb) in the last four months. I decided it’s time to take a new set of pictures so I can compare them to the last set of weight loss pictures form August.

I stopped taking my monthly comparison pictures because I was so pissed off with myself. I wasn’t losing any weight; I think I was actually regaining though it’s difficult to say because I started regularly weighing myself again in October. [Read more…]
