I was in a good mood on Thursday afternoon but in the evening I was so anxious I gobbled up my (single) chocolate egg in advance. I didn’t even have time to take a picture of the egg for my blog. The only thing left of it is this lonely action figure on my table.
There was a good reason for my mood swing. See, I accidentally deleted all my websites on Thursday evening and didn’t even notice it for hours because I was so busy working on a client project.
Luckily, my web hosting company came to the rescue and restored my sites from their Saturday backup, so I only lost a couple of blog comments. I write my posts in Word so I just reposted them on my blog.
It took some time to get over that incident. I’ve been working my tail off the whole Easter vacation trying to finish a client project. It didn’t help that my client is micro manager who breathes on my neck all the time. After working for 10 hours straight, the only thing my client could say was to inquire why these guys heads are chopped off in this picture (I had already explained it a couple of times). I could’ve cut his head off.
There might be an alternative explanation to my volatile moods.
I’ve been off my hormone replacement therapy for some weeks now so it may be it’s just my “natural grumpiness” coming through. Perhaps all post menopausal women are like that? I have had no migraines though, which is great.
I found a great quote in a book.
I’m on the estrogen patch, but I don’t think the doctor gave me all the instructions. I wore it over my left eye for a week and made six people walk the plank . . . helped with the mood swings, but didn’t do much for the hot flashes. —Leigh Anne Jasheway-Bryant, author of Not Guilty by Reason of Menopause
I hope you had a happy Easter and ate lots and lots of chocolate eggs and bunnies!
